This book is all you need, but there are a few things that you need to realize before taking the test. First, I would like to say that I am a Sybase DBA with no Oracle experience, and I passed with a 50/60 by using this book. You don't really need experience to pass the Oracle certification exams if you get the right book, and this one is the right one. The method that I use is to read the book, to write information on note cards as I am reading, and to review them before the test. It works, and I wouldn't bother with the Oracle courses unless you don't understand a concept or you feel that you need more hands-on experience.

Although you should be able to pass by using this book, there are various misconceptions that may affect your performance. One misconception is that the practice exams in this book, which are fairly straightforward, are like those on the exam. This is untrue. The statement, "There are two right answers for every question" holds true for the Oracle certification exams. You just have to pick the answer that is "most correct." Also, you actually do have to choose multiple answers on certain questions, and you have to watch out for that as well.

Another misconception is that you may not need to read every chapter. You need to read every chapter unless you are very familiar with Oracle.

This book covers all the points you will need. It restates the points many times and in different ways, but all of chapters are necessary for the exam. The information in this book is clear if you've passed the previous exams and you're familiar with RDBMS concepts. The only concept that I didn't understand when I first read the book was RMAN cumulative and incremental backups.

Lastly, good luck and don't panic...

If you are still unsuccessful repeat the process until you can be certain, again by visual inspection, the problem is now not coming from a damaged disc surface.

DVD Data Repair / Recovery

The software you can use for this are DVDFab, Nero 8 (trial) andIsobuster. In the case of Isobuster you can try the free features first but failing that the full version featured should be purchased. A search right from Yahoo or Google will find you the relevant sites.

Place the disc problem in the DVD drive of your computer, then:

1. DVDFab. Try to use DVDFab first, he has the best algorithms for reading anything on a DVD, including how it integrates with the DVD drive, honestly sometimes I think it would be read a bagel if you put inthere!

Select "DVD to DVD." DVDFab will now try to read the disc and, if possible, write the contents of a folder on your hard drive. It is as simple as that. It is either going to work or not! b. When Isobuster has detected the files on the disc run the function "Find missing files and folders" under the "File" menu.

c. You will now have an entry on the left column of "files and folders found theirsignature. "

d. Select that, then click on "File", "Files found via their signature" then "Extract files found via their signature." Choose a location and let it run.

Now you have all the files you've chosen to go. Most with the extension. VOB files are MPEG from your disc wrapped in the VOB container. They can then be imported into a video editing program using the "Import DVD / VR" function or can be read by most DVD burning software.

Not finalizeddiscs. If possible try to get the original device used to create the disc to be finalized. If this is not possible or the original device fails to successfully complete the disc you may have to resort to the Isobuster routine above.

If you have been left to another very good album, but not finalized the following steps.

This requires Nero 8 (trial version) and is suitable for non-finalized discs only. Click the link above Nero, download andinstall Nero 8. Yes, that's great ... sorry!

Place the finalized disc into the DVD tray computer. Nero StartSmart 8 Open. Click "create and edit" on top of the screen. Click "author, edit and capture video." NeroVision 5 will start. The technology and architecture used in DRP is sophisticated especially in enterprise, but I have another point of view, it sparks me to think of such planning for those small to medium size companies because they can't afford to spend lots of $$$ on it, that's reason this book brings value to a consultant.

Most people think that DRP can't generate revenue actually, however, from this book, it provides a concept to me how to secure a company assets. This book is quite suitable to those business management as well to remind and review themselves. Sometimes, we are not so lucky, some incidences will not give us a second chance or accident could be recovered, this book told us why and how to prepare before unexpected events come to us.

I don't think DRP (Diaster Recovery Planning) or BCP (Business Continuity Planning)are narrowed to IT only, even our home, public facilities, etc., we could apply our DRP mindset there.
